Tanya & Frankie’s Summer Wedding at The Fennes

There are some wedding days that feel full of warmth from beginning to end, not just because of the sunshine, but because of the people surrounding you. Tanya & Frankie’s beautiful June summer wedding at The Fennes was exactly that. A day filled with love, laughter, happy tears, gorgeous weather and one very important four-legged guest of honour… Bowie.

From emotional morning gift exchanges to surprise entertainment, Scottish traditions, sunshine portraits and sparkler celebrations after dark, their wedding day was packed with unforgettable moments.

Morning Preparations at The Fennes

The morning began upstairs in the stunning bridal suite where Tanya and her bridal party got ready together. The atmosphere was relaxed, emotional and full of excitement for the day ahead. Between hair, makeup and final touches, there was still plenty of time for dancing, laughter and a little chaos in the best possible way.

Meanwhile, over in the honeymoon cottage within the grounds of The Fennes, Frankie was getting ready with his groomsmen, all dressed proudly in their traditional Scottish attire. It was the perfect setting for a morning shared with close friends before the celebrations began.

One of the most emotional parts of the morning came when Tanya & Frankie exchanged gift boxes before the ceremony. Delivered separately during preparations, both gifts brought a mixture of tears, laughter and heartfelt reactions that made for some incredibly special moments before they even saw each other.

Adding another personal touch to the morning, Frankie and his groomsmen even spent time setting up the flower arch for the ceremony themselves, a lovely detail that made the space feel even more meaningful.

Bowie the Ring Bearer

Of course, no part of the day could be mentioned without Bowie.

Their gorgeous dog Bowie wasn’t simply attending the wedding, he was the official ring bearer and very much the star of the show. Calm, relaxed and completely unfazed by the excitement around him, Bowie took everything in his stride.

He was expertly cared for throughout the day by Woofs & Weddings, who did an amazing job making sure he was happy, comfortable and ready for his important duties.

A Beautiful Indoor Ceremony For A Summer Wedding At The Fennes

Although the sunshine outside was absolutely stunning, Tanya & Frankie made the thoughtful decision to hold their ceremony for their summer wedding at The Fennes indoors. With temperatures climbing and bright sunshine filling the grounds, they felt it would be far more comfortable for their guests, and especially Bowie to stay cool inside rather than spend too long outdoors.

Before the ceremony began, Tanya had arranged a wonderful surprise for Frankie and their guests. A Scottish piper escorted Frankie into the ceremony room, creating such a memorable atmosphere and a brilliant nod to his Scottish heritage.

The ceremony itself was full of emotion and joy, with Bowie performing his ring bearer role perfectly. Watching him make his way down the aisle was one of those moments that had everyone smiling.

As Tanya & Frankie made their way back down the aisle as newlyweds, they were greeted by a beautiful shower of dried petal confetti from all their family and friends.

Drinks, Canapés & Sunshine

Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed drinks and canapés whilst mingling throughout the downstairs rooms and out in the beautiful grounds of The Fennes.

The sunshine was absolutely perfect for an outdoor wedding reception, giving everyone the opportunity to relax outside and enjoy the atmosphere whilst catching up with family and friends.

After group photos were finished, Tanya & Frankie slipped away for some private portraits together whilst guests gathered for their second confetti moment. These quieter moments together away from the crowd always become some of our favourite parts of a wedding day to photograph.

Before joining their guests for dinner, they also had the opportunity to see their reception room fully set up for the very first time. Afterwards, they escaped briefly through a side door for a few peaceful moments together before making their grand entrance.

Sweetheart Tables & Singing Waiters

Once inside, Tanya & Frankie took their seats at their sweetheart table ready for dinner and speeches.

Whilst they enjoyed their meal, we took a short break before returning just in time for one of the biggest surprises of the day, singing waiters.

The reaction from guests was brilliant. What started as dinner service quickly turned into full entertainment, laughter and singing across the room as the surprise unfolded.

After speeches, we headed back outside once more to make the most of the beautiful evening light whilst the reception room was transformed for the evening celebrations.

A Surprise Dress Change & Evening Celebrations

As evening arrived, Tanya & Frankie cut their wedding cake before another surprise was revealed.

Tanya disappeared briefly, only to return wearing a stunning second wedding dress ready for their first dance, a moment Frankie clearly wasn’t expecting.

The evening celebrations continued with a delicious hog roast before the singing waiters returned to the dance floor to really get the party started.

And then came another unforgettable moment, Frankie serenading his new bride in front of all their family and friends.

The atmosphere for the rest of the evening was incredible, with everyone dancing and celebrating right through until darkness finally arrived and it was time for sparklers.

Ending the Night with Sparklers

There is always something special about ending a wedding day under the night sky, and Tanya & Frankie’s sparkler finale was the perfect ending to such an emotional, joyful and unforgettable celebration.

Surrounded by the people they love most, and of course Bowie, their wedding day at The Fennes was the perfect reflection of them both. Relaxed, meaningful, full of personality and completely centred around family, friends and having the best time together.

"Can’t recommend Helen & Noel enough, they explained packages clearly for us to decide what we wanted, they kept in touch regularly before our Wedding and we met up to discuss the whole day in detail so by the time our day came we were at ease with them and so confident they would cover everything we wanted. They went above and beyond on the day, making sure we were ready at each step of the day, Helen even helped me get ready in my day and evening wedding dress, they stayed from morning and well into the evening to get some night time shots we wanted ! We are so so pleased with the pictures they are absolutely stunning and wouldn’t hesitate to book them again should we need a photographer !"
