A sunny winters day so we wrapped up well and headed off to visit Hedingham Castle on one of their wedding open days. We thought it would be a great opportunity to see it dressed for a wedding in preparation for photographing one of our lovely couples later this year and we were definitely not disappointed.
From the moment we arrived we were made to feel so welcome and no questions were too much trouble for the wonderful staff to answer.
Upon arrival you walk up the driveway and cross the bridge over the dry moat and get your first full view of the castle and its' outside staircase.
Entering through the main door you arrive in the lower chamber where you guests will congregate before your ceremony in the historic surroundings.
Once everyone is ready, the grooms party and wedding guests make their way up to the banqueting hall where the magical ceremony room awaits.
The view from the minstrels gallery offers a unique perspective on your wedding ceremony.
You and your guests can then enjoy your reception on the lower floor suite complete with it's own bar.
Our time at the castle ran out all too quickly so we will be returning in a couple of months to explore the rest that this amazing wedding venue has to offer, including the castle grounds and sharing it with you.
