When many of us were stuck at home, many made the most of this time to carry on planning by completing some lockdown wedding tasks. Here we give you our top tips to help you continue wedding planning when stuck at home.
1. Wedding Venues
Decide on the type of venue you want to get married at or hold your reception at if you opt for a church or registry office wedding. Many venues are currently offering virtual tours, which whilst not the same as being there in person will definitely help you narr0w down your choices.
2. Wedding Website
Set up your wedding website now if you are having one. They are a great place for your guests to keep up to date with everything. https://sayi.do/pricing is just one that offers free sites
3. Choose Your Wedding Flowers
Spend some of this time you have on your hands researching the flowers you would like to use. If you know your colour scheme find out what flowers match and will be in season when you get married.
4. Wedding Guest List
Work out who you want with you to celebrate your day. Start with the full list of absolutely everyone, then work out how many guests you can actually afford and go from there.
5. Postponement Notices
If you have had to make the hard decision to postpone your wedding make sure to contact everyone by email, phone or post to let them know and confirm your new date if you have one. If you are looking for cards to send to your guests then check out these and more from Paper Ballards
6. Wedding Day Music
Spend time with your partner choosing the music for your day. You will need entrance and exit music for your ceremony, as well as one or two songs for signing the register. Your first dance is one of the most important pieces of music and many couples struggle with this so why not have an evening together maybe with a glass of something listening to your favourite songs.
7. Photography List
Make a list for your photographer of any must have photos. Things like the big group, bride and groom and the wedding party photos will usually be done automatically. But a full list of those you really want never hurts and you can then discuss them with your photographer before the day. Do remember though, the more photos on your list, the longer they will take to accomplish. If you are giving each other special gifts or cards on your wedding day make sure your photographer knows about them, as well as any special events on the day.
8. Shortlist Suppliers
Make a list of all the things you would like for your wedding day like florist, photographer, cake maker, DJ/Live Band and spend some time online researching them and creating a shortlist of the ones whose style you really like.
9. Choose Wedding Cake Flavours
Most of us don't need an excuse to eat cake and treats, but why not use this time and organise an afternoon tea with your partner to taste test some different flavours and decide what you would like for your wedding cake.
10. DIY Wedding Decorations
If you are planning on making some of your wedding decorations yourselves, now is the perfect time to play with crafts and ideas and come up with your own unique designs.
