How To Write A Brilliant Review For Your Wedding Photographer

If you want to make your wedding photographer do a happy dance, one sure fire way is to write them a wonderful review. For small businesses, just like ours, glowing reviews are our lifeline. Potential couples will read them, and knowing others have had a wonderful, positive experience will help them make an informed decision.

Charlotte & Jack married in Charlestown, Cornwall

Why should you even bother writing a review for your photographer ?

We all trust our family and friends when it comes to recommendations, but did you know many couples also trust online reviews from previous couples ? When buying a new product or service we nearly always read the reviews and apparently we are not alone, almost 90% of couples read reviews when looking for their wedding suppliers. A consistent stream of reviews especially on Google can also help good companies climb the rankings and appear higher in searches, thus rewarding them for their great service.

What should I include in my review ?

We all worry that our review will sound just like anyone else and be very generic. Here are a few tips to help you write a great review.

Sam & Matt married at Langtons Registry Office in Hornchurch, Essex

How would you describe the journey with your photographer from initial contact to the end result ?

Hiring a photographer is not just about what happens on the day of your wedding and the photos you receive, it is also about how they make you feel during consultations, visits, emails and phonecalls.

Lauren & Luke married at Ashwells, near Brentwood

How did your photographer go above and beyond to help your day run smoothly and be stress free ?

We are probably not the only ones, but on your wedding day we will turn our hand to most things. Whether we are pinning on buttonholes, fixing tiaras, bustling the wedding dress...we want your day to go perfectly so you have as little stress to deal with as possible.

Siobhan & Alan married at Holiday Inn, Colchester, Essex.

Did your photographer give you any special guidance which calmed your nerves ?

Stressed brides and grooms do not make for beautiful relaxed images, so we will do everything we possibly can to help calm your nerves.

Zainab & Edward married at Crondon Park, Stock, Essex

How approachable and accommodating was your photographer if you needed to change anything before the day ?

We all know when it comes to planning a wedding not everything goes to plan, so we aim to be as flexible and understanding as possible. Our couples always know they can talk to us about anything at anytime and not have to worry about how we will respond.

Dawn & Mark married at Cressing Temple Barns

Were you able to ask for additional special photos you forgot to put on your shot list ?

There are so many things to remember when planning your wedding day it is not surprising that things are sometimes forgotten until the day.

When we found out on the morning of the wedding that Wendy's parents did not have a single photo of their own wedding we made time to take them off for a mini shoot of their own.

Wendy & Gareth married at Gosfield Hall in Essex

Can you share any examples of how your photographer went beyond your expectations ?

Listening to our couples and being sympathetic to their needs is just one way we help and support them on their wedding day.
