Surprising Non-Photography Things We Do During Weddings !

It may surprise you to know that on a wedding day we don't only take amazing photos, we are also part co-ordinator, entertainer, party planner and so much more. If your day runs smoothly, then there is less stress for you and your photos will be stunning because you are relaxed and enjoying the day. This is why we do so much more than take photographs on your wedding day.

Helping with the decorations

We are often on site at your venue early to check things over and sometimes lend a helping hand with setting everything up.

Pinning on Buttonholes

Most of us have attended a wedding at some point in our lives but how many of us actually remember how to pin on a buttonhole ? Noel and I have had so much practice at this one over the years it has become almost commonplace for us to do this for the wedding party.

Sourcing Music

When a couple wants a particular song for their wedding but has trouble finding it or does not have the equipment to put it on a USB drive for the venue we are there to help.

Doing up fiddly dress buttons

Those tiny little buttons on the back of your dress can be so time consuming and frustrating if you don't have the right tools or are in a panicked rush. Our wedding day kit includes a crochet hook...the perfect tool for getting them done up with ease.

Cutting cross stitches on suits

So often we have grooms arrive at the venue only to find they have not cut the little cross stitches keeping their suit in shape or the pockets closed. Our little pair of manicure scissors in our emergency kit are perfect for this.

Dressing the groom

Sometimes no matter how you try you just cannot get your arm to bend in the right way to get your waistcoat or jacket on without a helping hand.

Helping with ties and cravattes

Sometimes it just won't tie correctly on the day leaving you getting more and more frustrated as time ticks away. Noel is a dab hand and sorting ties and cravattes on your wedding day.

Finding a replacement pocket square

One of our most memorable moments. The groom arrived at Gosfield church only to realise in his rush he had forgotten his pocket square. With not enough time to dash back and get it a mad few minutes ensued brainstorming ideas. A leaflet at the church just happened to be the exact right shade and once cleverly folded look just like everyone elses....unless you looked closely. And it gave us this lovely photo of the groom revealing it to his bride, a unique memory of their special day.

Playing hunt the engagement ring

We won't reveal which wedding this happened at because as far as we know the bride still does not know anything about it to this day. She was trying to decide what to do with her engagement ring and one of the wedding party piped up and offered to wear it until after the ceremony. Everything went without a hitch until just afterwards when the lady entrusted with the ring came to us in tears.....the ring had been too big for her fingers and had slipped off somewhere between the bridal suite and the ceremony room. A rather intense hunt took place, scouring every step of the way and miraculously the ring was found, returned to the grateful lady and most people were none the wiser that there had ever been a problem.

Peek-A-Boo with the little guests

We all know how hard it is for younger guests to sit still for any length of time and during your wedding ceremony is no exception. It is a long day which takes them out of their usual routine, often meaning they miss naps. With two of us we are able to help out keeping them entertained whilst carrying on with photographing everything. Playing peek-a-boo takes a few seconds but can often produce wonderful smiles in otherwise unseen moments.

Bustling the wedding dress

We advise all our brides to practice this with someone before the big day, but as sometimes happens that one person is nowhere to be found when you are ready for this to be done. Over the years we have become quite adept at bustling your dress so you can get on with your first dance and enjoying the party.

These are just a few of the things we do on your wedding day to ensure things run smoothly.
